October Meeting

This month's meeting was an all day bookmaking workshop with Philadelphia Book Artist Donna Globus. The focus of the workshop was "Tab Sewn" books. Below are some highlights of the day:

About Donna
Donna Globus is a Philadelphia book artist and printmaker. After working as an architect and construction professional for almost twenty years, Donna went back to graduate school once again, and received an MFA in Book Arts/Printmaking from the University of the Arts in 2010. She received the Library Purchase Prize for her book Sensitive Dependence, and the Elizabeth Roberts Prize for excellence in typography and letterpress printing. In addition to a recent exhibit at the Capstone Gallery at Cedar Crest College in Allentown, PA, Donna’s work is currently exhibited at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL, and at the central branch of the Free Library in Philadelphia, PA. Donna was recently awarded a Grabhorn Fellowship by the College Book Art Association for study at the Arion Press and M&H Type in San Francisco. She is a Board member of Philadelphia Center for the Book.

The next meeting will be held on November 20th in the printmaking studio at 10am. Come prepared with a design idea for a print.
